I weigh 157lbs. and 5'7. I am looking to lose 17 lbs.. What calorie intake should I be at to lose this weight?
Depends how fast you want to do it, and how much your willing to work out.
Figure out your basal metabolic rate and then depending on if youre going to be able to exercise, deduct up to 500 cals from the number.

NOoo!! Find your BMR then work out your daily burn (sedentary, light exercise etc) and take 500cals from THAT number- if you take 500cals from your BMR you'll cause damage to your system!
It depends on how active you are and how old you are. Assuming you're over 21 and lightly active (up to half an hour a day) you should be able to lose weight pleasantly and steadily (1 - 1.5lbs a week) on about 1500 cals a day. Choose good quality, wholesome foods, eat regularly, drink plenty of water and you should see some progress.
If you don't feel like your cholesterol is high, no worries, right? Wrong. High cholesterol gives no warnings and could be deadly.
