How many calories should I eat!?!?!

My stats:

Female, 130 lbs., 5'2", 22 yrs. old, exercise 5-7 times a week : run 30-45 min and walk 30-45 min.

I want to loose 10-15 lbs. and right now I eat around 1400 cals.  I eat a very balanced diet (60% carbs, 25% protein, 15% fat) and pay attention to getting in my fruits and veggies.  I don't seem to loose wt. though.  Do you think this is because I am eating too little?  Or do I just need to give it more time?  I seem to stay right at 130 and I've been trying for almost 2 weeks.

Yes, you are definitely eating too little if you're doing that much exercise. I'd up it to around 1900-2000 for a week or two, and then maybe reduce to 1600-1700 or so.  But 1400 is way too little, in my opinion, for your activity level.

I'm 5'2, 24, and started at 130 too. I'm at 115 now, and I also ate around 1400 on days that I exercised, though you exercise more than I did. Every body is different though, so I wouldn't be able to say why you're not losing weight. I would suggest that you try to zig zag your calorie intake though. I think what helped me most was that I was drinking a lot of water. I believe my protein intake was higher than yours too, I was doing a 40/30/30 ratio. My opinion would be to just give it more time though.

omg u sound exactly like me last year! i was stuck at 130 for abolsutely ages! no matter what i did, i was running lots like u and ate such a balanced clean diet. however, the weight has come off, just slowly. im now hovering around the 120 lbs mark with the same problem! i hate to say it but i found the weight came off more when i mixed it up, either eating more or less.

if u've been eating/exercising like that for a while then your body may get used to it. maybe try mixing it up a bit, zig zag ur calorie intake, or try different exercises. some form of weight training 3 times a week would be advisable too.

Thanks for all of the help out there!  It's great to know there are others in the same boat.  I think I just need to be a bit more patient and try eating varying amount of calories.  Any other ideas are welcome but these are a great start!
