Expectant Mom Mantra

Quote  |  Reply
An email from the WTE website I received today, thought I'd share: Repeat after me: I am not fat, I am growing a baby. After a lifetime of watching your weight, it can be unnerving (and sometimes depressing) to watch it go up, up, up. Whenever you feel bummed about your expanding girth (and your expanding bum), remind yourself that there's a beautiful reason your body is changing. To fuel that baby growth, you need to keep your growth going, too, so dieting's never an option when you're expecting. Instead, eat as healthy as you can (remember, you share every bite with your baby), and eat as much as you need to in order to gain at the right rate. (One more time, with feeling: I am not fat, I am growing a baby!) Hope all you ladies are doing wonderful!!

I so needed this post today!  Just starting my 2nd trimester, and I'm feeling FAT.  Again, not pregnant (which I am), but fat (which I am not.)  It sucks to see the numbers go up, even though it's awesome to be pregnant.  I'm at that awkward stage.  My pants that I kept around for laundry day that were two sizes too big are now too small in the waist (but just right everywhere else).  My shirts are too tight and my belly sticks out just enough to make me look...  you guessed it!  Fat!

I'm about to go and have a workout, so that should help, but until I start showing, I'm afraid I keep feeling humongous.  Alas.

these help with that awkward stage

I have two bella bands and I don't know what I would do without them!

Old Navy maternity yoga pants have been my life saver! They are so comfy and nonconstricting! I've gone as far as cutting the tops off some maternity jeans and pinning the Bella Band to them (today) and then I'm somewhat comfy. I don't know what I'd do without those yoga pants though!! I also got a pair of those cute ballet slipper shoes... I got them at Walmart for $11 and they're all fabric. I got a size larger and the wide width. I'm going to get another pair because I'm going to run these into the ground!!
