K.  simple question.  Is it better to eat before exercise or after exercise???  OR does it even matter?

Definitely do not want to exercise on an empty stomach. And definitely want to get some protein into your body after lifting weights/exercising. So I guess both. But they do not have to be big meals. Like I eat a bowl of cereal about an hour b4 working out, and then after I have a protein bar and/or eat my lunch. Just make sure you have something in your body b4 and after. But like I said does not have to be a hearty meal, it can be a fruit or something.

I think it is all a matter of what works best for you.  I do all my running and walking in the early a.m. hours before work and straight from bed.  I drink about half a diet Pepsi before and then take off.  I have also read in Runners World that this is just fine.  So, I think it's best to try others ideas and stick with what feels best for you.  I love running early in the morning but my co-worker does all her exercising after work (which I can't even imagine doing!).  Good luck!
