35 Calorie-a-slice cheesecake!!

I think I'm going to try a recipe tonight and I'll let you guys know how it turns out...

You take 1/2 cup a boiling water, add sugar free jell-o (or unflavored gelatin w/ a flavored extract or cocoa powder), mix it until the gelatin's dissolved, put it in the blender w/ 2 cups of non-fat cottage cheese, then let it sit in the fridge.  Sound good?  I thought so.  I'll tell you guys how it is.

This is what I made:

1/2 cup boiling water
1 packet unflavored gelatin (5 cals)
1.5 tbsp cocoa powder (25 cals)
2 packets splenda (0 cals)
1.5 teaspoons almond extract (0 cals)
2 cups fat-free cottage cheese (320 cals)

So the whole thing adds up to only 345 calories, and will make about 10 servings, I'm guessing, for 35 calorie a slice cheesecake!  woooo!
And my dad, who loves the crust, is just going to put his slice on top of a graham cracker, which adds about 20 cals, so still only 55 cals.

It's still hardening, but boy - does it look good!

Guys!!  It's yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Next time, I'm going to lighten up a bit on the almond, add a little more cocoa - make it 2.5 tablespoons - and probably blend it longer (still has a few cottage cheese clumps) - but it tastes GOOD!

It's no Cheesecake Factory 400 cal slice of fatty goodness, but it sure as hell beats Sugar-Free Pudding!


Next time I'm going to try making it fruit flavored and mixing it blueberries after blending!

i think that if i'll do it, i'll use a fiber one crust like hungry girl does....

Had some last night w/ a little bit of sugar-free chocolate syrup on top... 50 calories and spectacular.

soME THING I like is ....a hunk of tofu (silken lite)  30 cals per chunk...and then i take i table spoon frozen raspberries and in a small dish i microwave the berries, with a packet of splenda...then pour them over my tofu...which is frozen and partly thawed.....then i sprinkle a little bit of splenda around the plate...soo good, if you never tried tofu try it that way.  SERIOUSLY!  and if you tried tofu...give it another chance...Im gonna try that cheese cake too.....with berries, i don t like almonds..but darn goood idea! 
not that this has anything to do with your recipe, but when I went to Blossom in Chelsea NY (posh organic vegan restaurant, delicious), I had the vegan cheesecake made of tofu.

Yummy but oh so rich and probably fattening, but less guilt than the cheesecake at the deli across the street! :-)
just ran across this recipe and made it real quick, only had 1.5 cups of cottage cheese so it wont be as thick but i made it with cherry flavored sugar-free jello and i tasted the left over mix in the bowl and it was delicious....gonna add a tablespoon of graham cracker crumbs and a strawberry on top.  only takes a few minutes to make too!!

Used sugar free strawberry jello instead of unflavored.  Put 1/4 of a graham cracker on the bottom of each serving.  I used roughly 2-2.25 ounces of filling per serving.  Based on my calculations, my batch was about 80 calories-but worth every single one!!  Even my daughter loved it.

Next time I want to use unflavored gelatin and swirl in a s/f jam!!

I wonder if it would be fluffier if I used club soda instead of water?  Don't know if the gelatin would dissolve if the liquid isn't boiling-any thoughts?  Maybe dissolve in 1/4 cup water and add 1/2 cup club soda??
Definetly trying this Bless for this recipe .Do you use a reg Graham cracker crust or something else?

I personally used the whole cracker, just broke it on the perf lines.  Placed it whole (1/4) in the bottom of the single serve dish I used and poured the filling over.  The pre made crusts have sugars and oils to keep it pressed together, so I didn't want to used the calories!  Don't know how many of you have this, but I used a mini loaf pan.  It has 8 individual mini loaf pan, built into one 9 x 13 pan.  I just put an oversized piece of parchment in each loaf section so that I could easily lift the whole serving out without destroying the piece.  Easy to portion control that way.  I even make mini indiviual meatloafs in there-just weight out the right oz. and I'm ready to go!
so uh, say i made it, and i decided that i wanted to maybe just make that slice a little bigger....:D and then ya know, get two of em...and then ya know, eat HALF OF THE PIE I WOULD ONLY BE EATING LESS THAN 200 CALS???????????????????///// TEH AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
