I've been sticking religiously to 1500 calories, with a 500-1000 calorie deficit depending on how hard I exercise that day, and my weightloss has been going nowhere fast. I got so frustrated I wanted to give up, and yesterday I ate at least 2000 calories (CC says 2000, but I'm sure there were at least a few I forgot to log!) including tons of nuts and potato chips (a rare treat) and I didn't do any exercise aside from a quick grocery-run, so at best I had less than 100 calories deficit for the day. I fully expected to pay the price this morning... but what does the scale tell me? A new low weight! It's bizarre!

Hey Kajikit I think it is awesome when you eat some bad stuff and you still lose weight because of the program that you are on.  I live for seeing that scale drop when i know that I ate something like potatoe chips or cake recently and my body learned to just power through it.  I am super pumped for you and that weight loss... keep up the excelent work!

It's a long slow haul... and sometimes it just seems like the results aren't particularly related to the effort I put in (ie. I'm carefully counting my calories and getting exercise and the scale isn't budging) and I get discouraged... which seems to be the cue for my body to kick itself back into gear and to drop a little more weight! I can't really complain...

BTW, I've been dieting for ten months now... and it doesn't feel like a 'diet' at all. I did the strict stuff for awhile, but I got tired of it and reverted to normal eating, just carefully watching my portions, and it's a lot more pleasant! If I eat more than about 1700 calories in the day I feel STUFFED FULL!

The same thing just happened to me! Yesterday when I weighed in I gained .9lbs since the day before, and that day I had gained .2lbs since the day before (so I gained over a pound in two days, while sticking to my diet and exercise). Well, last night I went way, way, WAY over my calorie intake (by 2000 calories!) I indulged in a large Dairy Queen Blizzard, and a entire 99 cent bag of Cheetos (as well as a few beers. which lead to the food binge)! When I got on the scale this morning, I found that I had actually LOST 1.5lbs... WEIRD! Maybe I just got lucky?

Double post... My bad!

It happens to me to. I go through the whole week being extremely good on my calorie intake. However, when Saturday night comes I go to the club and drink alcohol to high heaven and a little water to keep the headache away and I dance, dance and dance all night usually from 10-3pm. This is my one night to be free of my kids and to spend the day with my hubby.

Guess what, the next day I get on the scale and I am exactly 2 pounds lighter!

Its been working for me for the last 8 weeks that I have been on my calorie count.

You have to remember though, staying thin and loosing weight means being healthy and maintaining it. I think this site really helps educate people even if they fall of the wagon. I hear stories of people say that they started in 2006, lost 40 pound then stopped logging. They came back to CC in 2008 and have only gained 10 pounds back. To me that is a real lesson learned. If you don't learn the tricks to staying healthy then all the 40 lb would have all come back.
