What a great goal moosie, the push up thing!

I realized this morning to my delight that I am able to do about 6 push ups where I could hardly hold the position without the up and down motion about 2 months ago.

Hmm.... 45 push ups though I'm only 26 I gotta get working I think I'll join you in your goal, see if I can do the 45 push ups by xmas.
zooms back in...

oh yeah!  this week I slipped below 300 lbs!  2 days at 299!  Woot!!!  2 more lbs and I'll have 20 off....  zippin my lips!

pushups challenge....  anyone up for one?

i'm up for a pushups challenge.  I think I will work towards 3 sets of 10 wall pushups a day until Thanksgiving!  And then re-evaluate.

And right now I can do 10 pullups at water aerobics.  My goal is 30 by Thanksgiving (3 sets of 10, in the pool of course ;)

I have a long ways to go before even trying standard pushups on the floor or even a pull up out of water.  Some day.  For now, alternative modified exercise is ok!

beginners strength exercises ~ be sure to modify or even check out water exercises or chair exercises if regular exercise is too much.  I started by walking with a cane and could only do 3 mins a day, but now I can do an hour of water aerobics and laps after!  I just now started adding the pullups in sept, and am up to 10!  So start where you are and do what you can!
HURRAY for go4gold for being under 300lbs!!!! Good job!

When is your thanksgiving? We just had ours this past weekend.

I'm in on the challenge I want to be able to do the 45 by xmas.
Yay ~ company!  That's 3 of us!

I'm in the states.  Thanksgiving is a Thursday, Nov 22.  That's 6 weeks from now!

yeah, I think I can make my goal by then!

Sab ~ Happy Thanksgiving btw to our Canadian friends ;)  How'd your day go?

I was drooling reading about Dolled's day!   She did so very well ~ and really inspired me to think about how I will handle it!  Dolled's ona (sp?) is so cute to put a candle in her pie!

And!  I can't wait for ours.   Before, I always stuffed myself and that was it, I was off track for a long time....  This year,  I think I will have a nice spoonful of whatever I want, nicely rounded but not heaped.  No seconds and up to 2 pieces of desserts (i will probably sample a bunch = to 2 pieces).  And I don't think I'll count calories that day but will limit myself on 1sts instead of 2nd, 3rds & 5ths!  I used to eat as much as I could and then would crash and feel sick.  I really want to enjoy the food, but more importantly, I think I'd like to enjoy the day with the family too! (instead of feeling miserable!)

Well since my next birthday isn't for a year...maybe I'll set an interim push-up goal and try to get to 35 by Thanksgiving. Mind you, these are girly, bent at the knee push-ups, not the hardcore military style ones.

Congrats again Go4Gold for getting under 300!

Lynn your plans for Thanksgiving sound good. But I agree don't worry about cals that day just enjoy every bite of it and get back on track the next day. I think that is really what counts.

Sounds great moogiesue with the 35 push ups until Thanksgiving.

I'll try for the same but military style ones, since I found I can actually do them now. Still can't get over that.

I think I'll try to get up to 25 by US Thanksgiving.
Gr8! have our goals updated!

~ i'm almost tempted to sign up with mom's account for 25 finger pushups by thanksgiving...  and not with my body ~ maybe air pushups ~ lol ;)

i really am mentally allergic to exercise, so this is just the type of *push* i need!

goldie - its Oma (dutch for grandma) hehe. CONGRATS ON GETTING UNDER 300! Woooooooooooooooooo! LaughingLaughingLaughing

This week so far has been hectic, but that's no big surprise. I am down to 240, I am so eager to get below 200! Blarg!

Anyway, I'm off, bed time.. LONG day tomorrow!

<3 Jenn

Congrats go4gold on being under 200!!

sickbxy - Great on finding out you don't have to go lower with your weight.  Sounds like you have a plan and glad you are working with a nutritionalist that sometimes makes it easier and at the same time harder.

erin - I was moved by the biggest loser transformations as well.  It is what keeps me motivated and want to continue on because they are able to do it and I want to be a success story like they are and so many people are on here

jansa - great job on losing that weight.  It feels good to hit your goals.

Hope everyone is having a good and clean eating day!  I did well today with my eating and even got 8 servings of veggies.  I was able to stay in my calorie goals and drink tons of water.  So hopefully I can get under 200 again.  I keep fluctuating between 199 and 202 and the water weight can be so frustrating.

well hi all!! I have been tring to do some catching up and wow!!! you guy are doing great..I get stuck at one weight all the time, so don't dispear.. I did discover something by accident, during this election. A little history first, I was going to the gym before I started working with this elct. and worked out, weights and cardeo.  my weight was dropping  and would go stagnant.  during this elct. I was put in the postion of spokes person a couple of time more than I wanted to. Well you know the media they wanted to see how we were getting our message out. walking door to door. A funny thing was I never had time to walk more than 2 blocks at a time and I stopped to speak with voters. the pounds started dropping like mad...I don't know what it was, about being outside. I still did some weight training the only thing that changed was my cardeo was out side...who know why I guess it was just the changing what I was doing.. I hope that helps....good luck to all and I am looking forward to getting to know everyone again....have a great night and a great day tommaro w..jansa
jansa ~ did you forget to eat while you were busy & enthralled?  it happens to me when i'm really tied up at work....

whew.  i think i'm going to make it through this day.  Just had Molly's pumpkin dessert & yum......  i used a tbs of honey.  it wasn't quite as sweet as pie, but i can learn to live with it.  i also added skim milk and an eggwhite to simulate pie filling ~ lol ~ was that bad of me?  I could live on this stuff!  am going to have to watch for the Holiday sales on pumpkin and stock in a few cans.  i think i have a new fav to rav dessert!

Ooooooh .... I bet its yummy with honey. If you want it a little sweeter, add a bit more honey, or a bit more pumpkin pie spice! Now that I know how good pumpkin is for me, I'm going to try to have it at least a few times a month ... especially this fall! And you're right, now is definitely the time to watch for sales.

I had a good day today, calorie-wise, with 2 calories to spare! But only had 7 servings of veggies and 1 serving of fresh fruit .... and my fat intake was only 16% of my calories instead of 20%  -- and my carbs were at 53% as a result. I had onions, mushrooms, asparagus and an apple -- guess I'd better go green tomorrow, huh?

I did manage to eat 43 grams of fiber, though..... my lean proteins were Almond Breeze, fat free cheese, fat free turkey, low fat ham, and peanut butter (which isn't actually that lean!) ... oh and the beef broth in my homemade french onion soup.... so I did get a nice variety in today. I've had fish twice this week already, and am going out to dinner on Friday and will have salmon, so looks like tomorrow will be a chicken day.... and maybe some egg whites. And broccoli .... haven't had any broccoli in 2 whole days!!!

It's hard keeping track of so many things .... calories for each meal, total calories for the day, percentages of fats/proteins/carbs, grams of fiber, RDAs of vitamins, taking the right supplements, and trying to eat a wide enough variety of proteins, veggies and grains to get a well-balanced diet that doesn't get boring. Even tracking things like making sure I eat enough fish in a week.... sheesh! And then there's fluids ... did I drink enough water and other beverages?  AAAAUUUGGGHHH!

I went biking twice today. The first time was around 4pm ... it was a lovely day. The second time was around 11pm .... it was cool and quiet and peaceful out there. (My DH goes with me at night; I'm not allowed to bike alone after dark. And we only ride around the block. Don't worry, I'm lit up like a fluorescent yellow Christmas tree with three lights on my bike (all flashing), a light around my neck, a neon yellow safety hat, a neon yellow safety vest, yellow neon stickers ALL over my bike, and reflectors everywhere.)  So .... yay for me .... I got some exercise today.

My new treadmill gets delivered on Saturday ... wooo hooO!!!

=^..^= MOLLY

hi guys!

I've managed to lose 2.5lbs in the last couple of days, but i think that is mostly water weight unfortunately.  though, it is still nice to see the scale heading in a downward direction.

Here are 2 things im proud of: Yesterday i went to a cafe with some friends and watched 2 of them eat chocolate brownies and chocolate cake and fries and iced coffees with cream and i sipped my diet soda and ate NOTHING!!!

Tonight, i had to go out for dinner for an end of year work type function and everyone else ordered from the set menu (which included huge main + dessert) but i ordered an entree as my meal, and had a hot chocolate instead of a dessert. Not bad huh?  WANT TO SEE THE SCALES GO DOWN!!!!!!!!

Alright, I'm in on the push-up thing!!!!  I'll see how many I can do this evening and report back tomorrow.....Also I weighed myself last night and i'm down one whole pound from 264 to 263!  It feels great because I've been pretty consistent lately.  Hopefully that will keep me motivated!
Good morning everyone.I am getting back on track.

go4gold, as far as eating.yes I did. I am on a very low cal. diet and if I miss any meal I start feeling really sick. most of the time I simple at the same thing over and over, Things I knew that were easy to fix and quick to eat. In fact I would go back to my past food list and followed some of that.  having that to glance at made things easier..

mollymouser, good job, the pumpkin dessert sounds good.  I don't know where you live, but fall has just arrived here in our part of Okla. in the past few days and I am loveing it!!!

singing_girl, Hi good for you. pounds down are pounds down!!  great choices.  A couple of months ago when I got my act together and set forth on my journey of pealing off the pounds I totally avoided anything that was not a "perfect food", I did find two places I could eat that I could find many choices were Panera Bread and subway... I have also learned how to go ahead and have that cake, but I only eat 2 bits. and I eat them slowly. In  the past I would have never thought that would have worked but it is now. And you ought to see peoples faces when you say " oh that was good, I am full, after 2 bits... I have a couple of friends who made the funniest faces. Not because I used to eat so much, they were tring to figure out how I could have that kind of self control with such a great cake, and they could'nt. I just smilled. There will always be more cake, but if we don't get our health under control we may not be around to take that bite.  Again good for you!!!!

I have added another reason to loose weight.  I have alot of things comming up that might involve being on the oppisite side of some of  the media again and BOY!!!, If you are on the oppisite side of the cameraman, well lets just say they don't exactly catch your best side. He could have taken this picture from any angle, and what did he do. well as I was bent over putting a sign in the ground, he deciced my hinnie, which is not tinnie by no means!!. would make the best picture, well I guess it did hide all the signs.  the other camerman was on our side, he was much more merciful.. I guess I got the last laugh, was sent to the watch party were he sat in the corner pouting, while we had a blast!!!!!!! everyone have a great day!!!
jelly1134,GOOD FOR YOU KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!

Well, I had to fast this morning to get a blood test at 11am, so no breakfast for me. (Cross your fingers that my cholesterol, triglycerides and hemoglobin A1C are all improved!)  And who scheduled fasting blood tests for 11am? Do they want me grouchy and hungry!?!? The phlebotomist stuck me once in both arms with a HUGE needle before giving up and just painfully stabbing the back of my right hand. I now have three impressive bruises forming and look like someone pretended I was a slinky and tossed me down the stairs!  I won't know the results until I call the doctor's office next week, and it usually takes 3-4 phone calls before I get any sort of response. (I don't know who I am less impressed with, the doctor or her staff... this was the snarky doctor who told me there was no way I could lose weight without having surgery or going on meal replacement shakes for the rest of my life ... seriously!)

After my blood test, my DH took me out to an early lunch at Boston Market.  YAY! It's nice to go out once in a while!  Lunch was roast turkey, garlic dill new potatoes, and green beans ... 410 calories and 2 servings of veggies. I am sure I will eat veggies this afternoon for a "big snack" since I am still hungry. (Darn that missing breakfast). And, of course, I'll have veggies for dinner. 2 servings down, 7 to go! Yesterday I had only 7 servings of veggies and 1 serving of fruit .... I really need to step things up a bit!

Our treadmill gets delivered and set up on Saturday morning .... wooo hooO! Who'd have thought I'd be so excited about .... exercising? Part of me just really wants to lose 50 pounds and walk back into my snarky doctor's office and say, "neener neener neener" as I shake my big booty and her darn scale! And I'm on my way ... it's been 7.5 weeks of dieting and (as of this morning's sneaky unofficial mid-week weigh in preview), I've lost 33.6 pounds! (That's 2 more pounds lost, peeps! Anyway, I'm pretty excited about my nifty new treadmill.

Hello everyone!!!

I have missed you all but I was layed out by the flu for a week. Gratz to all those who have reached goals and to those who have set new ones. Welcome to any new people I have missed. Didn't really eat while sick and won't start exercising again until Monday of next week. I'll talk to you all soon.

molly - way to go on getting your veggies in.

jansa - way to go on losing the weight while walking outside.

bigmommah - sorry you had the flu but welcome back.

singing_grl - congrats on losing those 2 pounds.  It does feel good when the scale starts moving downward isn't it.  Keep up the great work and it will continue to move downward.

Well today was a bad eating day for me.  I ended up giving into the munchies.  I didn't go over maintanence but this is the first day that i have eaten close to maintanence.  I guess it may do my body some good because I have had a deficit for almost over a month but today I just gave in and not sure why.  I hate the empty hunger from the prednisone feeling tonight and just gave in.  Oh well I will learn from this and keep moving forward!!  I did eat tons of veggies today so I got 6 servings in but would of liked to had more but I can live with 6.
