I like cereal. Are there any cold cereals out there that are not really bad for you but still taste good?
Personally, I like the flavour of Fiber One (Original). It has tons of fiber and is only 60 calories for 1/2 a cup.
Their Caramel Delight is also really yummy and only about 180 calories per cup. It tastes like Cinnamon Toast Crunch only with way less sugar and much healthier.
I LOVE the Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereals, both flavors. One has 190 cal per cup and the other 200. Both real high in fiber, grains and proteins. VERY filling. One cup and a cup of milk is roughly 300 cal breakfast and I am set until lunch with just that. Both naturally sweet and I don't add any sweeteners at all.
Kashi GOLEAN Crunch is the best. Sweet & sort of nutty. It DOES NOT taste like "diet" cereal at all. A little high in cals though, 190 for 1/2 cup (53 grams).
Also I'm a big fan of Raisin Bran, but for some reason I only like Post.
Honey Bunches of Oats are good, but not as good for you as the others.
What about Cheerios?? Is this an OK cereal? I know it's not the healthiest but it isn't terrible is it?
I love all the above mentioned cereals, and I definitely think Cheerios (plain) are one of the best choices...personally speaking, this is one of the only cereals that doesn't trigger me to keep coming back for more!
I personally like;
- Quaker Oatmeal squares
- Plain cheerios
- Fruity cheerios (Better then fruit loops!)
- Nature valley cereal
- Natures path flax plus cereal
- Kashi Organic autumn wheat (Better then frosted wheaties!)
But thats just me. xD
Special K Vanilla Almond, of course! I have it everyday for breakfast for ... ever. Sometimes I even have it for dinner! I love this stuff. There are other varieties of Special K but I'm not very fond of them. Honey Nut Cheerios come in second and yes, it is pretty healthy, they put right on the box that helps reduce cholesterol (oats). Both have 110 cal in 3/4 cup of cereal. If you like oatmeal it is also very healthy, but it's not my thing.
completely agree with the post abovee me. and did you know they have little 100 calorie to go packs of special k vanilla almond?!! theyre great. haha but anyways all the special k varietys are really good.
special k has...
- vanilla almond- veryyy good one of my favorites w/ only 110 cal for 3/4 cup
- cinnamon pecan- my other favorite and i reccomend it
- chocolatey delight
- red berries- also really good it has dried strawberrys in it that get moist ish when you add milk
- original
- fruit and yogurt
- original protein plus
all together special k is a good choice because theres lots of kinds that taste really good and are pretty low cal :)
i loveeee corn flakes with low fat yogurt mmmm delicious

Are you kidding? If you're going to eat special k, you might as well just eat a cheaper kid's cereal like trix or something. That cereal is absolutely loaded with sugar, and has almost nonexistent dietary fiber. Not to bash your tastes or anything. But honestly, I think this is one of those overhyped cereals that are kind of bad for you, and overly sweet.
Raisin Bran is good - better yet, Posts Select Date and Raisin Pecan Crunch. I also really like mueslis like Alpen. Very sweet and yummy but full of whole grains.
I tried Fibre One's version of raisin bran and found it cloyingly sweet; it's going to take me a while to work through that box and I won't be buying it again. Quaker Oat Squares are tasty but don't remotely fill me up (unlike all my other cereals), which I find kind of odd. As a lower cal (but probably worse for me due to the sugar) treat, I'll occasionally have Honey Bunches of Oats.
Personally, I enjoy Kashi Go Lean, and Kashi Vive. Although Kashi Vive might taste funny or even a little diet-y if your new to it. I also love plain cheerios, for the amount you get and the little calories it's amazing. <3 I also like Kashi Heart to Heart Cereal a lot.
Honey bunches of oats is my fave!
plain cheerios- like someone else said, its prob not going to trigger you to eat more or tempt you to binge b/c its not sugary.
i love special k but i have eaten wayyy too much at once so i try to stay away from it.
Shredded wheat has a honey nut flavor that is just sweet enough, but not too sweet. 190 calories for 52g and 20% of your fiber.
Cook brown rice in batches and keep in the refrigerator. Its just as good cold with milk or soy milk and/or fruit for breakfast in the morning, has lots of fiber and costs a fraction of the price of boxed cereals.
I like 1 cup of cheerios mixed with 1/4 cup fiber one 'sticks' one (cheerios are much cheaper than fiber one so it saves money!) or any of the flavoured fiber ones by themselves if I want to splurge . The caramel one's yummy.
This morning I had Special K Protein Plus cereal and it was REALLLLY good! 10 grams of protein per serving, 5 grams of fiber per serving, it's 100 calories for 3/4 cup. It had just a touch of sweetness to it but only has 2grams of sugar. Not too shabby in my book :)
i rotate btwn fiber one (caramel delight flavor), frosted shredded wheat (vanilla, strawberry, or original), and special k (vanilla almond or cinnamon pecan)

Yes I agree, a tbsp of toasted cashew nuts added takes it to another level. That's exactly what i ate this morn. ...creamy and yummy!
Give it a try twt11.
