I don't remember you, however I am in the same boat...

Time to get back on track.

it's the 1st of the Month what better time then now to kick off the new Month and get ready for the new year. Congrats on getting back on track! Now just fight the battle and stay on track.

If you need any help with ideas feel free to shot me a message!

Just wanted to say that i know where you're coming from as I am up at least 20 lbs from last year... i'm gonna try to get back on track but decided this time to measure my success w/ a tape measure vs. the scale (this number is scary to me!) and not over restrict and mess up my metabolism like last time.

good luck!

i gained back about 8 between march and august, but since september 1 i've lost it all again.  don't get discouraged.  you've learned the skills you need; you just have to put them back to work.

i suggest that you don't try to lose fast.  that's just a formula for gaining it back again.

Thanks guys so much i really dont feel that bad anymore. I guess i just was so strick on everything and i lost my weight so fast i thought i would be okay taking a break BOY was i wrong this time of year always hurts me so bad because im the one cooking all the yummy stuff im glad u guys wrote back the first day is always so hard :( and the first week even harder but my goal is to lose at least 30 till my  b-day comes around in january so i wish all of u luck and my self i will let u know how im doin sunday ok thanks.

I have a small suggestion because you said you wanted to lose 30 pounds by january?  That's a lot of weight in less than 2 months, so I would definitely try to take it slow since you said that you were too strict the first time which caused you to take a break.  You don't want to get really off track again, right?  But good luck on getting back on track!!

Thanks for the advise bre yea i know its a pretty big goal but i picked it cause short one i lose but then regain i know i maybe wont make to 30 but close to it is good for me thanks again.

lovelymom, what you're describing is the absolute definition of a crash diet, and it's the one thing we all know will not work.  you may lose a lot of weight fast, but 99 times out of 100 you will gain it back and more.

No im in no way on or have never been on a crash diet it took me a whole year to lose about 60 pounds with alot of hard work and dedication i ate 1600 calories a day and worked out 30 everyday i ate mostly veggies and lean meats and tons of whole grains i have high blood pressure so i was mostly on the dash diet you can look it up if u want my dr put me on it as i was close to 300 pounds an my blood pressure threw the roof  i am a much healther person today then i was a year ago i just needed a break i have 2 toddlers that keep me very busy an a 9 to 5 job as well. im in no rush to lose my weight i just give myself goals that i know i can live up to my diet is givin to me by my dr.s and i use this site as a tool so please if youedont know me will to know what kind of diet im on please dont assume okay thank you. many people i know have lost weight and regain some its normal nobodys perfect.

you said you want to lose 30 pounds before your birthday in january.  even assuming that your birthday is january 31, that's a 1750 calorie/day deficit.

30 pounds x 3500 calories/pound = 105,000 calories.  105,000 calories/60 days = 1750 calories/day

that's drastic and unsustainable by any definition.  but it's your body.

Setting a high goal is sometimes better for dieting.  Maybe she won't allow herself to have a cheat day if she sets a high goal.  It doesn't mean she is going to starve herself or get discouraged if she doesn't meet that goal.  It's just a good way to get back on track for some people.

Lovely mom, we studied the dash diet in my nutrition class, the results are amazing referring to hypertension AND most people kept the weight off for an entire year!

Welcome back, we all need to take some time off sometimes!

Thanks moesha at least someone understands :) the dash diet in the last year has helped me lose weight and lower my blood pressure im so healthy now and im glad to be back all of you keep up the good work I will let you know how im doing in a week or two later..
